Matcha is a premium green tea powder from Japan, used for tea or as an ingredient for cooking and baking. While other green teas are grown throughout the world, matcha is unique to Japan. Matcha is renowned for its numerous health benefits being rich in nutrients, antioxidants, fiber, and chlorophyll.

Next time you feel like having a hearty and robust tea, try this nutritious blend. Matcha contains about 3 times more antioxidants than high-quality regular green tea. "Catechins", which have very powerful antioxidant activity that may help flight inflammation in the body, help maintain healthy arteries and promote cell repair. You also get 15% DV* of vitamin E in a cup of this tea, another powerful antioxidant that helps fight free radicals and naturally slow the aging of cells, keeping your hair and skin healthy.

*%DV: Percent Daily Value (DV) references how much a certain nutrient contributes in one serving of food in relation to the daily requirement.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup almond milk (177 mL)
  • 1/2 - 1 teaspoon matcha powder (depending on desired strength)

Instructions

  1. Add almond milk and matcha powder to frother. This is one of the few times that I will add an ingredient to my milk before frothing.
  2. Froth. If you don€™t have a frother, simply whisk until blended.
  3. Sweeten to taste.

You can also mix the matcha powder with a bit of water or Almond Milk to create a liquid, and pour your frothed milk over the matcha liquid.
